San Simeon by the Sound's Executive Director Priscilla DeMasi is named to the Suffolk County Senior Citizen Task Force

Priscilla DeMasi, Executive Director of San Simeon By the Sound Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Greenport was named to a prestigious Suffolk County Senior Citizens Task Force, established through legislation by Suffolk County Legislator, Steven H. Stern in the Sixteenth District.

“I am honored to be a part of such a forward-thinking initiative on behalf of the ever-growing number of senior citizens in our County and in our San Simeon community in Greenport,” said Ms. DeMasi.

As baby boomers age, and as health care options continue to improve, we expect a rise in the elderly population in Suffolk County and throughout the country.  I hope and expect that my experience overseeing the administration of such a long-established and reputable organization as San Simeon will help me offer input as part of this Task Force that will eventually help many seniors throughout Long Island.”

The Task Force will study issues and make recommendations for solutions to the problems of older adults throughout our County.  Many seniors face daily life-altering decisions such as affordable housing, health care costs, transportation issues and government benefit issues and the Task Force will work to identify how those challenges can be minimized for seniors.

The initiative includes several public hearings, where representatives from Suffolk’s ten towns come together to hear testimony from experts as well as seniors in the community.
